Overview

This API generates short (approximately 350 characters) summaries of long content from a URL. Summaries are returned as highly readable paragraphs with complete sentences. Use the returned content for executive summaries of internal documents, previews of articles, efficient mobile pages, email previews, or just about any instance where your end user will benefit from a summary rather than simple snippet.

The API also includes the full HTML of the article content tagged for variable-length summarization ("tagged_content"). data-lhe attributes are added to HTML elements with scores on a 100-point scale, with 0 being the most important content and 100 being the least important. This allows consumers to present variable-length summaries similar to Stremor's own TLDR plugin.

Origin

This API uses the same technology as Stremor's TDLR Plugin and TLDR Reader for consumer desktop and mobile users. You can preview the quality of the instant summaries by visiting http://tldrstuff.com and installing either the browser plugin or the Reader app (available for iOS and Android). Both are free.
